Discover the Shocking Truth About Pet Food

pet food

If you feed your beloved pet commercial pet …

……. YOU’RE KILLING YOUR PET!

Did I get your attention?

I hope so.

Your pet’s long life in good health depends on the right knowledge in your hands. Your pet’s need and deserve the best possible diet for longevity.

Pet food manufacturers have you brainwashed into thinking they give two shits about your pet. No way!!!  They are to busy thinking about the all mighty health of the capitalist pigs! Business seems to be more about the bottom line of money than ethical and honest standards in business.

Some of the fillers and bi-products are deadly and do not take long to have their detrimental effect on your pet.  Many of the fillers are difficult to digest and cause serious damage within the first few years of your pets life.  Early on your pets health is distressed and does not have to be.

Did you know dogs and cats should live into their mid to late 20s? It is fact!

However, it requires the pet be on a diet without all the harmful fillers, cancer causing chemicals, rood kill and other pets and animals who were euthanized and ground up in your pet food. For the sake of your pet I hope I am scaring the hell out of you. All this is totally true fact.

Doesn’t your pet deserve the best HUMAN QUALITY food available, especially if is cost no more than you current food? Only Life’s Abundance provides HUMAN QUALITY pet foods and snacks without anything at all to harm your pet and our prices are often times lower than low quality foods.

Here are some excerpts from a book I recently read.

“The “Cleaned-Up” Definition of Animal By-Products;

Meat by-products, are animal parts not used for human consumption, such as bones, organs, blood, fatty tissue and intestines.

The “Raw” Definition of Animal By-Products

Are you ready for the truth? This is really going to upset you!

Permitted products include:

Dead & euthanized zoo animals

Road kill

“4-D livestock” (dead, diseased, disabled and dying),

And even ( yikes! ) euthanized dogs and cats “.

Now you tell me you are not upset at Dirty Little Secrets of the pet food industry. You would have to be brain dead not to be outraged at the deceptive and deadly advertising practices. All the TV commercials about natural pet food from the major manufactures is fraud in many peoples opinion, mine included.

So let your pet be the judge. Put Life’s Abundance next to the food your pet is now eating and I can almost guarantee you your pet will go to the Life’s Abundance. We carry dry as well as canned food and it is never more than 6 weeks from manufacturer to your door. We have puppy, adult, senior and weight loss formulas. We even offer F.R.E.E samples!

If you love your pet you will go to this site right now and listen to the audio’s and videos. Get a good education even if you do not let your pet be the judge of our human quality pet food and snacks.

Have there been any pet food recalls lately?

February 19th, 2010

After that last one a couple years ago, I’m still a little scared about it happening again. I quit buying a brand that was supposedly a higher-end quality pet food because they had some of their foods on the list. I buy my cats the best food I can that they like, but I still worry about it.

I dont have a pet …my husband hates animals…..and out here there is only one brand of pet food available in the market. …. Indians dont care much about pets…they are given our left overs and they eat whatever they get and never get sick …they are very immune to anything thats given to them. we dont even have many pet care centres and the ones we have is 1000 kms away. i am overwhelmed by the love westerners shower upon their pets.

What type of dog food would you recommend?

February 16th, 2010

Personally I like Innova dog food for my dog. However, my cousin is going to be working at Petco and he can get a discount for whatever dog food he purchases from there. What, if any, dog food brands would you recommend from Petco. Ones without by products and cornmeal in them. What do you guys think about Blue Buffalo or IAMS or Natural Balance, etc.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT PURINA ONE?

Iams actually isn’t a very good food, I’m looking at several of their foods now and the first ingredient is corn or corn meal and on the other ones, corn or some form of it is high up on the ingredient list. Yuck!
Think of it this way. Anything you can buy at a grocery store (ie walmart, Giant, Weis, or wahtever you have in your area) is goign to be like feeding your dog McDonald’s every day. Crappy food: lots of fillers which means your pet gains weight from that, plus eats more (fillers fill you up for shorter amount of time than good food) which costs you more and they put on MORE weight.. plus all the other various health reasons.

Blue Buffalo is excellent.
NB looks alright, but it looks like they really focus on veggies instead of meats. Dogs (and cats) are "obligate carnivores" they HAVE to have meat..

This is a good site to give you some ideas.

If money is an issue, I always recommend Costco’s Brand, Kirkland. It’s a decent food for the price.
Good luck

Is it true that pet food contains meat from dead cats and dogs?

February 16th, 2010

I recently heard that manufacturers are putting dead cats,
dogs ,road kill, in our pet food.
If you see the word "meat" that means cat or dog bodies (meat).
If this is true, I will NEVER buy dog or cat food again!
So, please answer factually……..does canned pet food
contain meat from dogs or cats?
Thank you.

Yep.

If you see the word "chicken meal," "meat meal" or "meat and bones meal," this is the dry byproduct of a lot more gross stuff than dead (SICK) dogs and cats. Throw in their flea collars, the plastic bags their dead bodies were in, the dead cows that didn’t make it to the slaughterhouse, roadkill, etc. It is unbelievable what these manufacturers are allowed to put into our pet food! There was an outcry, but the practice goes on.

Animals are fatty, so in the process of creating the meal, they skim off the grease, and you’ll find this byproduct in the pet food as well — "chicken fat (preserved with … )." Gah…I feel like retching.

You’ll find links to the information at http://www.raising-rabbits.com/raw-cat-food.html, and http://www.raising-rabbits.com/raw-dog-food.html.

The best thing we can all do is refuse to buy dry kibbled pet food (I think canned pet food is somewhat better than dried, however the word ‘meal’ is the dead giveaway in any case).

What our dogs and cats really need is raw meat and bones. They’ll be so much more healthy when they eat real food that is appropriate for their species. Their skin rashes and allergies all clear up, their health begins to glow, and even the fleas head for the hills. At least, I haven’t treated my cats for a year…and I haven’t seen a flea in all that time. Amazing. The research is at that rabbit website, because you can feed raw rabbit to dogs and cats, too.

Does adult cat food eaten by a kitten have any major ramifications for the kittens overall health?

February 15th, 2010

We have a 20 month and a 5 month old cat living together, so we need to watch when they’re eating their wet food together, because the the kitten will try and eat the adults food, which we stop.

I’m mainly asking because a friend who also has had cats for years, from kittens, has only ever fed them adult food and they’ve grown up fine.

it duzent matter if its cat food or kitten food

What is the status of butchering horses for pet food, consumption these days?

February 2nd, 2010

Or is all pet food now chinese produced? Loaded with grains, which makes it goat or chicken food.

It’s just outlawed in the USA- Because they decided to shut it down rather than reforming it and cracking down on inhumane techniques, now, instead of 3 or 8 hours, the animals are shipped 13-36 to go to Canada and Mexico where it is still legal. And now the horses that don’t go to slaughter but are unwanted are starving to death. I know of instances in my area of people letting their horses loose to wander the ditches for food because they cannot afford them anymore and all the shelters are full. Actually, Americans are the only ones getting silly about it- In Europe horse meat has been eaten forever, same in Canada. Horses are slaughtered for both human and animal consumption.

A good amount of pet food is chinese-produced, though, although it isn’t as much horse meat as you think. If the meat is good, you can sell it for human food for much more than you could for pet food, and there is a demand outside of the USA.

Question for Raw feeders and dog shows sponsored by pet food companies?

January 27th, 2010

Do you support events sponsored by pet food companies by attending or participating in dog events?

Example, Purina sponsors a lot of different of events, from conformation shows to sport dog events.

Would how you feel about kibble prevent you and your raw fed dog from participating in such events?

If you do participate, do you make it known that you do not support kibble for carnivores?

There wouldn’t be any dog shows without sponsors… Entries would become horrendous, ruling out many people who do not have a lot of money to spare.

It would be great to see butchers raising their hands, to lay out the big bucks it takes to put a dog show or competition on, but I won’t hold my breath!! lol

Like it or not those big companies like Purina are vital for that sort of thing, because their money helps pay for the judges, stewards, hire of facilities, the prizes, ribbons, trophies and so on.

If I or my friends win a comp - We gratefully shake hands and smile…. and the bag of kibble (whom ever it is made by), is graciously accepted and then discretely taken to the nearest dog shelter where ANY and ALL donations (even those of kibble) are always received with the utmost thanks and appreciation! You will be glad you did!

This is standard procedure by myself and my friends, and seems to me a good solution to the problem. It makes me feel good (I cannot offer a lot financially) and helps others. Making a ‘scene’ is only going to hurt the chances of that show receiving help from that sponsor again in the future, you can spread your opinions on raw feeding via more tactful methods then directly insulting a sponsor of an event. Hell we need all the sponsors we can get! As for boycotting an event, well that is only hurting yourself.

Accept your prize whatever it is and be thankful. There are times where I would rather receive a big bag of kibble which I can pass on to my local shelter, then some of the big and truly tacky trophies I have received.

What is a good cat food to help him gain weight?

January 26th, 2010

My cat is pretty thin from hyperthyroidism and needs a cat food, both dry and moist to help put some weight on him. The vet gave him a liquid vitamin for twice per day, but I want to feed him a high quality food that hopefully does not contain added salt or fish (any seafood). I am hoping there is a food for very active cats available, so to give him extra calories.

KITTEN foods are generally higher in calories because kittens need those calories while they are growing. If you need to add weight, then try the kitten formulas of dry/wet cat foods.
