What moist cat food will let my cat feel full longer?

January 25th, 2010

We used to feed him dry food (Iams) until my 11 year old cat started vomiting almost every day. Now we feed him moist food (Whiskas ?) but I need to find a cat food that does not make him hungry every 4 hours. This stuff seems to not fill his stomach for long.

pls STOP feeding ur cat that crap ( Whiskas )

i recommend Orijen or Evo

trust me

The foods you’ve noted are full of fillers that don’t provide your cat with what he needs. Switch to a high protein, low carb and grain free food. I recommend Innova EVO or Wellness Core, but there are plenty of others out there. Feed him according to the instructions on the can, breaking it into two daily feedings and he’ll be fine. Your cat is an obligate carnivore. That means he needs lots of protein from meat sources. Whiskas and Iams just don’t have what it takes.

You need to find a canned food free of grains and cheap fillers. Cats need a diet high in protein and fats. Finding a food that means those requirement will make him fuller. Go to the pet store and actually read the ingredients. Don’t even bother going into the isle that contains the same brands you see in the grocery store. When you are reading the labels, put back any foods that contain wheat, soy, or glutens. Those are grains that artificially inflate the protein content of the food - they aren’t meat protein, and not what nature intended for your cat to eat. Put back any foods that contain by-products. By products are a low quality protein source, and it’s not meat - it’s all the scrap bits and parts that have been deemed unfit for human consumption. Things like heads, feet, hides, tendons, spinal chords, intestines, and even diseased and spoiled meat. Not exactly what you want to be feeding your cat. The better foods are more expensive - but think of comparing the price of store-brand hot dogs, and a package of chicken. Which has more nutrition? It’s no different for your cat.
