Hi there ! First of …
Hi there ! First of all - fabulous dogs. So sweet and easy to be with arent they? Excellent video. I appreciate your sharing this with us. Wondering, now that you have the amounts down pat - perhaps you could mix the raw eggs into the chicken livers when they are nearly done & allow them to cook together? It would save you the extra step & the extra pot? Just an idea… Thanks again for sharing & inspiring. All the best to you and your wonderful bundle of joy.

Good for you. Keep reading on the subject. I use a 70%/20%/10% mix of meat, veggie/fruit, carb. Hope you didn’t revert back to bag food.

Good job. As I’ve …
Good job. As I’ve also discovered, making chow isn’t rocket science (although the pet food industry wants owners to think this). The key is in remembering dogs are dogs and while most human foods can be used, they need a dog-proportioned diet.

I’ve made my own dog food for 2 years and my mutt is absolutely thriving. His coat is extraordinarily shiny and he has lots of energy. He rarely scratches nor gnaws himself. His stools are regular and consistent. A big improvement over expensive kibbles.

Eliminate the oats …
Eliminate the oats entirely. Use potatoes - skins and all instead. Also, the healthiest dogs I have ever owned or seen eat raw meat and eggs. No need to cook it. Their natural diet is raw meat. Have you ever seen a wolf barbequeing it’s prey? You are using too mch organ meat. That much is not good for them. I like your idea of using egg shells. I hadn’t thought of that.

I would eliminate …
I would eliminate the grain. Grain is not a part of a dogs natural diet. It’s filler. But at least oats is better than corn. I don’t know why you would only feed them this “temporarily.” Maybe you meant to say that you alterate this with commercial food. My son is a veterinarian. Remember, pet food companies give vet schools tons of money and they brainwash vet students. The most advertised brands of commercial food (Benefil, Iams, Eukinuba, etc.) are total crap. They are the worst.

I like the cook’s attitude as well as the recipe. Thanks so much. What, if any, vitamins do you give your dogs?

I have been doing …
I have been doing this sort of diet for my dog since she was a pup, and she loves and and the vet says she looks great. I mix up the meat weekly (chicken liver, ground turkey, ground beef, etc….)I make it all in the weekend and then refrigerate it till we needed. I totally recommend the 5 extra minutes for your dogs health.

Since domesticated …
Since domesticated dogs have been around for many thousands of years, and vets have only been hawking dog food for about 80 or so, I dont plan on ever going back to that canned/dry junk– Are these the same nutritionalists who have overseen the “epidemic of obesity” in America? I think the “exact balance” the VETs are talking about belong to their CHECKBOOKS! lol!
