What should a person do to obtain a license to work in meet processing plant for pet food?

I have a bachelor degree in veterinary medicine, and I should start working in a small business company that prepares pet food. The company is located in California. There fore, I will work with raw meat. Can someone please tell me what should I do to become qualified to work with meat, and if I need to attend any courses or pass some tests?
